Alcohol & Drug Assessments
You have been referred for this assessment because you have received a DUI, another substance-related legal charge and/or are seeking driver’s license reinstatement.
You may also need an assessment as a way to determine the extent of your drug and alcohol use and what level of treatment would be appropriate if needed toward the next steps toward your recovery. An Alcohol & Drug Assessment consists of a face-to-face clinical interview; this is not a "pass or fail" process. There are not any correct or incorrect answers; it is important that you are open and honest.
At David Eichhorn & Associates a clinician will be assessing the nature and severity of your problems in order to recommend the next course of treatment if needed, to help you avoid future problems with substances.
The goal of an assessment is to ensure that the proposed treatment recommendation be the most appropriate based on the specific needs presented. This is a process which allows discovery of one’s own self to see their situation more objectively and gives us; the professionals, clues as how to best manage your treatment and recovery.
Please call 651-271-8530 or contact David Eichhorn & Associates online now to start this process and to arrange an initial assessment.
Individual Counseling
Our services will provide an individual counselor who will focus on the symptoms of substance addiction along with related areas of impaired functioning and provide the content and structure of the addict’s ongoing recovery program.
Individual Counseling is time limited and emphasizes behavioral change. It gives the addict coping strategies and tools for recovery and promotes 12-step ideology and participation. The primary goal of individual addiction counseling is to assist the addict in achieving and maintaining abstinence from addictive chemicals and behaviors. The secondary goal is to help the addict recover from the damage the addiction has caused in their life or those affected by their addiction.
Through Individual Counseling, the addict is the effective agent of change. It is the addict who must take responsibility for working on and succeeding with a program of recovery. Although recovery is ultimately the addict’s responsibility, the addict is encouraged to get a great deal of support from others, a sponsor, and drug-free or recovering peers and family members.
Overall, drug use is thought to be a multi-determined, maladaptive way of coping with life’s problems. It sometimes becomes compulsive and leads to a progressive deterioration in one’s life circumstances. Substance addiction can incur great damage to the addict physically, mentally, and spiritually.
The goal of individual addiction counseling is continued abstinence supported by a change in lifestyle. Please, call 651-271-8530 or contact David Eichhorn & Associates online now to set up an individual counseling appointment today.
